- “welcome to our town, new mayor!” maybe it was an accident. “thanks for being mayor for me!” or maybe not.
- “thanks for choosing our post office,” she says. there’s no other post office around, but you nod along anyway. you chose this post office.
- a villager runs up to you. “hey mayor, you know what would look great in our town? a pile of pipes!” of course. why didn’t you think of that?
- “it’s just pocket change, really!” maybe your concept of money is badly skewed, but it doesn’t seem like pocket change. you agree anyway.
- “hmm, for all of this i could give you…. 100,000 bells?” if insects rake in so much money, maybe it is just pocket change.
- you approach your best friend several times throughout the day. she repeatedly mentions how she chose to wear this shirt today. you nod along each time, not mentioning how she’s worn it every single day since you moved in.
- a horse villager and a rabbit villager stand side-by-side, engaged in conversation. they’re the same height. you don’t think twice about it.
- your new town has a massive museum, yet it’s somehow completely empty. you don’t comment on it as you begin searching for things to donate, unlike everybody else in town. you become a rookie archaeologist, but receive no pay-off or recognition.
- “i’ll tell the captain to start making stops at your dock,” tortimer tells you. the next day, kapp’n is there with his boat. he never leaves; he’s always waiting. you wonder if his family misses him, but the islanders don’t seem to mind.
- you start to wake up in the morning, and isabelle appears to you in the void of your mind. she greets you, tells you the date and time, and tells you anything important that’s happening in town that day. how did she get here? when you wake up, you leave your house as quickly as possible.
