NO LIE y’all. And they weren’t like set rules, so you would just find out when you showed up to church that your outfit, that your mom totally signed off on, that didn’t ~show anything~, was inappropriate because “it might cause boys to imagine what was underneath” or other something equally idiotic. Especially since we were always taught that “boys only have one thing on their minds,” which made it all seem to me like an exercise in futility. There is literally no way to win with some of these people. Of course not all church youth groups were as INTENSELY TOXIC as mine but for crying out loud.
