Sorry if this is a stupid question or one you can’t answer. so I’m not personally a spoonie, but a friend of mine has Lyme disease and she sometimes struggles with it. I realize that I can’t see everything she deals with, but she seems to be unaffected a majority of the time. Would it be a good idea to share the spoon theory with her, or would this depress her, making her think I focus on her Lyme rather than her as a person.

just-spoonie-things:

Hi there,

You could bring up the spoon theory in conversation if a similar topic ever came up. You could find it a cool concept you found online that you liked and thought she might like, or you can give her a link to our page and offer her a community to try out. Honestly I donโ€™t think sheโ€™d be offended if you kept it light and offhand while talking about it.

All my luck,

Bella x

Also in general, if it were me, it would be really nice that a friend was thinking of me and about things I deal with even if it is only something that’s an occasional concern. I think this anon is really sweet. ๐Ÿ’œ
